About Us
A look into Sunflower Montessori
Sunflower Montessori school, located in Mission Viejo, California, is based on the philosophy and teaching of Dr. Maria Montessori. Sunflower is dedicated to the happiness and growth of each individual child. We encourage each child to develop their own abilities, treat every child with respect, and care for them in a loving and supportive environment.
Our facility encompasses two preschool classrooms and one Kindergarten classroom. All classrooms have two teachers with no more than twenty-four students per class. We strive to keep classroom sizes small to encourage a more individualized program for each child.
Preschool Curriculum
Both preschool classrooms are made with the child as primary focus. Each classroom is equipped with child size sinks, toilets, shelves tables and chairs. Everything is brought to the child's level to create an atmosphere that promotes independence and security. This is their environment and should be constructed in a way that is comfortable for the child. In our classrooms children are taught to care for themselves and their environment.
